What is the difference between a matcha frozen and matcha iced latte?

Two variations are possible: the creation of a matcha cold without adding milk. It will only be water and green tea powder matcha. For it to infuse and foam, using the whisk, you will have to prepare it like a matcha classic hot. With a little water heated to a maximum of 75°C, to which you will then add ice cubes to cool the tea matcha and drink it cold. The matcha Iced latte is made with the addition of (cow's) milk, which brings roundness and softness to the recipe. If you are lactose intolerant or if you have adopted a vegan diet, plant-based milk alternatives (soy milk, oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.) are possible.

Tea matcha offers a unique vegetal taste in the mouth, with a secondary bitterness, which must remain light. When the balance between vegetality and bitterness occurs, we speak of an “umami” taste, a Japanese term for a lasting and sweet aftertaste. The addition of milk provides an even creamier appearance, while the sugar will compensate for the bitterness, for an even more delicious taste.

How to make a latte easily matcha frozen?

For one person, heat half a glass of milk (cow's or vegetable) in a saucepan or in the microwave. Then add the tea powder matcha, so that it infuses, and mix well using the whisk to create as much foam as possible. Then add, if you wish, a little sugar and honey. Then, fill another glass with ice cubes, and pour in the equivalent of half an additional glass of milk. Then add the first mixture, which will have cooled, and mix everything. Finally, you can sprinkle everything with a pinch of cocoa powder. matcha on top to decorate. All you have to do is taste.

For the non-iced version, you can replace the water with milk. Be careful, however, not to heat it too much because too high a temperature could damage the powder. 80°C is generally the maximum recommended water temperature.
