Comment faire un thé latte au thé noir ?

In summary: Choose a black tea (Earl‑Grey, Kashmir Chai, Tsarevna...), infuse 1/3 cup of boiling water for 3‑4 min. Heat milk (or vegetable drink) over low heat and froth it. Pour the hot milk into the tea by tilting the pan, finishing with the foam. Decorate with turmeric, cocoa or cinnamon stick. Matcha or almond milk variant possible.

Step n°1: black tea, earl-grey, chai, tea matcha…make your choice

The latte tea is a general term that arises from the traditional Chai latte. Indeed, the term “chai” refers to tea in Hindi. Indians drink tea with milk andspices such as cinnamon, cardamom or even cloves. This millennia-old association continues to be perpetuated from generation to generation!

Among our favorite teas to make a latte tea, we obviously find teas made from black tea such as Kashmir Tchaï inspired by the traditional mixture of Chai tea but also Tsarevna, our iconic Christmas blend with spices and to citrus and of course the iconic earl gray black tea with bergamot Anastasia.

Step #2: brew your tea

Once you have chosen your tea, boil water and pour it up to a third of your cup to steep the tea. Leave to infuse for a longer or shorter time, depending on your taste. Our recommendation: 3 to 4 minutes to reveal all the aromas of a black tea !

Step 3: heat and froth the milk

Put the milk in a saucepan and heat over low heat to prevent it from burning. Once it starts to steam, turn off the heat. To obtain a creamy foam, you can use a milk frother, a commercially available tool.

Step n°4: pour the milk

In the cup containing your tea, add the milk little by little until it is almost full. The trick is to pour by tilting the pan to retain the foam! Once the milk is added, place the remaining foam on top of your mixture.

Step 5: spice up your tea latte

Let your creativity speak and decorate your latte tea. A touch of turmeric, a rim of the cup sprinkled with cocoa or even a cinnamon stick placed on a corner of the cup.

That's it, your latte tea is ready to be enjoyed.

Bonus: what if we twisted the tea latte? With a tea base matcha for example

The recipe can obviously be adapted to your taste.

Milk intolerant? Prefer a version with soy milk or vanilla almond milk. This will delicately flavor your drink.

Want to be surprised in the mouth? Test it tea matcha slat. The recipe remains the same but the tea used is a tea matcha, a green tea originally from Japan. The bright green color will catch the eye and its very specific taste will delight your taste buds.
